You are a new transaction monitoring analyst. Forty-five alert cases will land on your desk across three weeks. Each one requires a decision: No Further Action, or File a SAR. Your accuracy and your efficiency are reviewed at the end of every week.
A walkthrough opens with your first case and introduces the desk one piece at a time: the alert, the ledger, the stamps, and the case queue. Each step waits until you have actually used that part of the interface, so you learn it by doing rather than by reading. It runs once, and it can be skipped at any point.
◆ Week 3 typologies. Not all cases are what they appear.
Training Mode is the default: work the alert, reach a disposition, stamp it. It is the fastest way to see how the cases are built, and it covers all 45 of them.
Analyst Mode adds the writing. Stamping FILE SAR opens a FinCEN Form 111, and the case will not close until you write the narrative: identify the subject, describe the pattern, state the amounts and timeframe, and explain why the activity cannot be attributed to a legitimate purpose. The narrative is scored on five elements and reviewed in the weekly report. Choose your mode on the start screen.
Three live cases from a later shift — a structuring-and-shell escalation, a negative-news false positive, and a crypto funnel. Nothing is saved.
